The need
Cabin sites often lie in fragile coastal and natural landscapes where every intervention counts. Many of the office’s projects are replacement cabins in the archipelago, where careful siting and a limited footprint are essential.
How we work
- We adapt the building to the terrain rather than the terrain to the building – for example by raising the cabin on columns or preserving rock outcrops.
- Compact plans and well-placed openings make small areas feel spacious.
- Natural, durable materials that age with dignity in wind and weather.
